Keith n Cole

Over Memorial Weekend Alan’s family came to visit. My brother-in-law, Keith, is a fantastic photographer (check out his flickr site). He’s also an engineer which came in super handy this past weekend as he fixed my cyber syncs AND rebuilt my softbox back into a square instead of the mangled mess it had become (lucky, lucky me). My nephew Cole recently lost his two top front teeth–adorable! On Monday Keith looks at Cole and says “hey Cole, I’ve got an idea” and Keith starts setting up the softbox and reflector. He tells Cole they are going to take a photo for Mom (my wonderful sister in law, Deb, who helped me organize my craft room this weekend as well –Thank you!!). I know that Keith’s gear is already packed in the car so I offer to let him use my camera and remote release. He politely declines and says “you can take it”  GULP! Me…ummm…well…o.k., sure.  Yes, I know, I know, I’m a photographer, no big deal right??? Right, no big deal photographing other non-photographer people, but taking photos of other photographers is big, big pressure.  Maybe the pressure helped…these are two of my favorites…what do you think?

Keith, Deb, and Cole..I hope you like these.

Fire!

I’ve been wanting to try this photo for a while.  My son was excited about holding the flaming ball of fire (I was a bit nervous).  Overall, I liked how it turned out.

Petti’s

Took O & A to one of my favorite locations. They are so adorable in the petti skirts.  A even brought one of her own to wear :)  Check out all the pretty ruffles–too cute!

Interested in a petti shoot? Give me a call, mention this post and receive a free 5×7 print.

Bloom: Tustin, MI

Spent part of this past weekend at the family cottage. I took a little walk around to see what was in bloom…..here’s what I found:

These lilacs smelled soooo good!

Found a patch of Poet’s Daffodils:

Not quite a bloom, but so very close—the Peonies are gorgeous when they bloom.

I know, I know…it’s no where close to a bloom, but I just loved the texture and shape:
